I applied without great expectations, almost on tiptoe. The idea of becoming an Opinion Reader to celebrate the 160th anniversary of Il Sole 24 Ore seemed beautiful—but distant. A dream for someone like me, who has always leafed through those pages with respect and passion, amid numbers, analysis, and insights on a changing world.
Then one day, an email arrived.
One of those emails you read twice to make sure you understood it right. But it was all true: I had been chosen as one of the project’s testimonials. Pure emotion. A mix of pride and disbelief.
Because Il Sole 24 Ore is a symbol, a point of reference. And knowing that I would be part—if only for a moment—of its story filled my heart.
I was invited to the photo shoot at the newspaper’s headquarters.
Stepping in felt like crossing the threshold of a temple of economic journalism. A place that breathes authority—but also innovation. I met extraordinary people, passionate professionals, and fellow Opinion Readers with whom a genuine connection was instantly formed. Each one with their own story, their unique view of the world, their voice to share.
And then came the invitation to the official presentation during the Trento Festival of Economics—another deeply moving moment.
Being there, among so many thought leaders and information professionals, was an indescribable honor. I felt part of something greater—a collective narrative that celebrates the value of knowledge, curiosity, and active listening.
This experience gave me far more than I had imagined: Professional satisfaction, certainly—but above all, a deep sense of gratitude. Because sometimes opportunities come when you least expect them, and they remind you how important it is to step forward, even with humility.
Thank you, Sole 24 Ore, for making me feel part of your story—and for reigniting my passion for reading, understanding, and sharing.
